Vestiges of Rocky Point’s quaint fishing village past can be found in fish stalls lining the main street through the Old Port. The area is now home to several souvenir shops, restaurants for all budgets, and incredible tile art and monuments commemorating the area’s dedication to the sea. Moreover, some of the most incredible treasures can be found on the main road as you head out of the Old Port.
While most shops in the Old Port line the main street along the rocky shore, be sure to explore roads leading up to the iconic church on the street 1ero de Junio. The walkable area allows you to explore local favorites, including the corner coffee shop that roasts its own beans. Similarly, next to the coffee shop is a small bakery storefront where you can pick up traditional pan dulce. A popular ice-cream stop in the Old Port is located in that same area, just across from the church. Further exploration will lead you to popular watering holes and dining options with a view over the sea.
When driving into the Old Port, a handful of parking lots offer all-day parking for a flat-fee. You will also see parking meters along the main street Circunvalación El Malecon. If parking in a metered space, be sure to check the time carefully.
